Child Occupational Therapist
Klinik Harmoni Kuala Ketil is looking for a dedicated and passionate Child Occupational Therapist to join our team and provide quality occupational therapy services for children.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT
ONLY candidates with a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, or a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification/certification, are eligible to apply.
Applicants without an Occupational Therapy educational or professional background will not be considered.
Fresh graduates with an Occupational Therapy qualification are encouraged to apply.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy assessments to identify children's developmental, sensory, motor, functional, and daily living needs.
- Plan and implement individualised Occupational Therapy intervention programmes based on each child's needs.
- Conduct individual therapy sessions according to the child's treatment and developmental goals.
- Support children in developing fine motor skills, gross motor coordination, sensory processing, self-care skills, attention, play skills, and daily functional abilities.
- Monitor and document each child's progress and adjust intervention plans when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and organised assessment reports, treatment notes, and progress records.
- Provide guidance and education to parents and caregivers on suitable activities, exercises, and strategies that can be continued at home.
- Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure therapy equipment and treatment areas are clean, safe, organised, and properly maintained.
- Comply with clinic SOPs, professional ethics, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Assist with paediatric Occupational Therapy programmes, clinic activities, and other related duties when required.
Requirements
- MUST possess a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution, or an equivalent recognised Occupational Therapy qualification.
- Candidates without an Occupational Therapy background will NOT be considered.
- Possess a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC) or be eligible to obtain one before commencing employment.
- Fresh graduates with an Occupational Therapy qualification are encouraged to apply.
- Experience in Paediatric / Child Occupational Therapy will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of child development, clinical assessment, intervention planning, and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with children, parents, and caregivers.
- Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Responsible, patient, organised, and passionate about supporting children's development and functional independence.
- Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
