Job summary

Private Advertiser in Malaysia seeks a visionary Chief Technology Officer to define and execute the technology strategy and architecture roadmap. You will lead software engineering across architecture, development, QA, DevOps, cloud infrastructure and release management.

You will drive modern engineering practices, champion cloud-native, microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation and observability, and provide technology leadership for client projects, pre-sales and technical proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or related field.
• 20–25 years of technology experience; 7–10 years in senior technology leadership.
• Proven experience building and scaling teams of 40+ professionals.
• Strong background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and microservices.
• Experience with solution architecture and pre-sales for enterprise projects.
• Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia for C-level engagement.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology strategy and roadmap.

• Ensure alignment with PDPA, ISO/IEC 27001 and regulatory requirements.
• Act as a trusted technology advisor to C-level clients, partners and the Board.

Job description

Lead software engineering across architecture, development, QA, DevOps, cloud infrastructure and release management.

Drive modern engineering practices including cloud-native architecture, microservices, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation and observability.

Provide technology leadership for client projects, solution architecture, pre-sales, RFP/RFQ responses and technical proposals.

Lead the company’s AI, data and automation strategy, taking use cases from POC through to production.

Build and scale a high-performing engineering, architecture and data organisation.

Manage technology budgets, vendors, cloud spend, engineering KPIs and overall delivery efficiency.

Own technology security, cyber resilience, business continuity, disaster recovery and compliance.

Ensure alignment with PDPA, ISO/IEC 27001 and relevant industry or regulatory requirements.

Act as a trusted technology advisor to C-level clients, partners and the Board.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.

20–25 years of technology experience, with at least 7–10 years in senior technology leadership.

Proven experience building and scaling engineering teams of 40+ professionals.

Strong technical background in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP), APIs, microservices, containers/Kubernetes and modern software engineering.

Experience delivering enterprise technology projects and/or commercial software products, including solution architecture and pre-sales.

Strong commercial, budgeting, vendor management and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders and Board members.
