A prominent financial services provider in Malaysia is seeking a Chief Learning & Development Officer to drive capability development for frontline distribution teams. This role will focus on designing strategic learning initiatives, establishing a training academy, and leading impactful programs that improve sales productivity and talent growth. Our client is one of the prominent financial services provider in Malaysia, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Chief Learning & Development Officer (CLDO) to lead the charge in building a high-performing, future-ready agency and sales force.
The CLDO will drive capability development for frontline distribution teams and play a key part in advancing sales productivity, talent growth, and long-term business sustainability.

As CLDO, you’ll set the strategy, lead the execution, and shape a strong training culture from the ground up. From onboarding to leadership development, you’ll build a learning engine that powers performance, drives business growth, and sets the benchmark for the industry
Responsibilities:
Design and lead a long-term learning strategy focused on sales performance, agency development, and field leadership capability.
Establish and manage a full-fledged training academy tailored for agents, distribution partners, and sales leaders.
Drive onboarding, upskilling, coaching and leadership programs that directly impact productivity and retention.·
Lead and mentor a team of trainers and program leads to deliver quality, high-impact learning across the country.
Track outcomes, performance and ROI—ensuring learning drives real business results.
Ensure full compliance with training and licensing requirements from regulators.
Continuously refresh training tools, content, and delivery methods (virtual, in-person, blended) to meet evolving field needs.
Requirements:
10+ years of experience in L&D, agency training or sales development—preferably in insurance, takaful or financial services.
Proven track record in building structured sales/agency training frameworks and improving field productivity.
Strong leadership skills—with the ability to inspire teams and collaborate across departments and agency tiers.
Hands-on and strategic—you can design big-picture programs and also ensure smooth on-the-ground execution.
Confident communicator and presenter—comfortable engaging with both field leaders and C-suite stakeholders.
Degree or certification in Training, Business, or related field; exposure to coaching frameworks a plus.
