Job summary

The Barry Callebaut Group in Malaysia seeks a Laboratory Head to lead daily operations of the Microbiology and Physical & Chemical laboratories. You will oversee staffing, testing accuracy, safety compliance, and continuous improvement within a GMP/GLP framework.

Reporting to QA and Production, you will drive governance, KPI tracking, and data‑driven decisions while ensuring readiness for audits and customer requirements in a fast-paced food safety environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology or equivalent
• Minimum 5+ years experience in managing foods or pharma laboratory
• Strong knowledge of Microbiology and analytical testing
• Fluent in local language + English

Responsibilities

• Lead Laboratory Leadership, Governance & Continuous Improvement across Microbiology and Physical & Chemical labs.
• Oversee GLP/GMP/HACCP/ISO compliant testing and KPI monitoring.
• Drive continuous improvement, calibration, and governance of laboratory systems.
• Interface with QA, Production, Engineering and other stakeholders to ensure compliance and data integrity.
