A leading power infrastructure firm in Petaling Jaya seeks an experienced CFO to oversee financial health and strategy. The ideal candidate has over 15 years in finance, expert in listed-company reporting and project finance, with strong leadership skills. The CFO will lead all finance, treasury and corporate-finance functions to ensure financial health, regulatory compliance (MFRS), robust project and contract financial controls (EPCC/EPC), and support strategic growth (M&A, IPO, project financing, PPA structures). This is a hands-on C-suite role requiring deep exposure to listed-company reporting, corporate banking, construction/EPC project finance in the power utilities and renewable energy industry.
Financial leadership & reporting
Oversee corporate financial reporting, consolidation and statutory reporting in accordance with MFRS and local regulatory requirements (board & external stakeholders).
Lead year-end audit, tax filings, and liaison with external auditors and tax advisors.
Treasury & corporate banking
Manage company liquidity, cash flow forecasting and working capital optimisation.
Maintain and negotiate banking facilities, bonds, performance guarantees, letters of credit and credit lines; manage banking relationships.
Project & contract finance (EPCC / Power Utility & Renewable projects)
Implement robust SOPs, project accounting, job costing and revenue recognition for EPC/EPCC contracts and PPA arrangements.
Oversee project-level cashflows, retention handling, claim management and subcontractor payment controls.
Lead fundraising (debt, equity, project financing), investor relations and capital structure decisions—including bank syndications and project SPV structuring.
Drive M&A, IPO listing, joint ventures and strategic partnerships due diligence and integration.
Build internal controls, compliance framework, risk management and processes suitable for a growing engineering/energy company.
Ensure insurance, performance bond and warranty exposures are managed.
Strategic planning & commercial partnering
Partner with CEO/BD to evaluate new business models (green EaaS, PPAs, energy storage), perform financial modelling and advise on pricing, tender bids and contractual terms.
Support bid financials and tender submissions for large utility and commercial projects.
People & systems
Lead finance team (FP&A, accounting, treasury, tax, procurement) and drive ERP/financial systems improvements (SAP/Oracle/Accumatica or equivalent), process automation and KPI dashboards for quarterly management reporting.
Present financials to the Board and investors; manage relationships with regulators, utilities (eg. TNB & state utilities), banks, auditors and JV partners.
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the CEO/BOD team.
15+ years senior finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior/leadership finance role.
Proven listed-company reporting experience (consolidation, MFRS, investor reporting).
Strong background in corporate banking / project finance (loan facilities, bond/LC, syndications).
Direct experience in construction / EPCC / EPC project accounting and contract management.
Experience serving power utilities or renewable energy clients, and knowledge of PPA, energy storage and EaaS commercial structures.
Advanced financial modelling skills (NPV, IRR, cashflow waterfalls, SPV modelling).
ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, Accumatica or similar); strong Excel & BI/dashboarding skills.
Experience with JVA, M&A transactions and due diligence.
Strong negotiation skills for bank facilities, bonds and major contractor claims.
Excellent stakeholder & board communication skills; Able to lead a team of finance and accounting staff; Able to translate technical project finance into board-level clarity.
