Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and lead the engineering and maintenance team to ensure maximum productivity and performance.
  • Monitor and maintain all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, and life safety systems.
  • Support the Director of Engineering in executing preventative maintenance programs, capital projects, and energy conservation plans.
  • Conduct daily inspections of hotel facilities to identify repair needs, safety concerns, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of guest-related maintenance issues with professionalism and urgency.
  • Maintain a detailed record of all work orders, maintenance logs, inspections, and repairs.
  • Oversee contractor work and service providers to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with hotel standards.
  • Enforce and monitor compliance with fire safety, OSHA, local building codes, and environmental standards.
  • Assist in managing departmental expenses and optimizing energy usage to reduce costs.
  • Act as a liaison between Engineering and other departments to support hotel operations and events.
  • Support emergency preparedness initiatives, including response protocols and staff training.
Qualifications

Minimum 3–5 years of engineering experience in a hotel, resort, or commercial property, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Technical certification or vocational training in building maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems required.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems and preventive maintenance tools/software.
  • Excellent organizational, troubleshooting, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong knowledge of safety standards, building codes, and emergency procedures.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and respond to emergencies as needed.
