Job Purpose

A chief controller oversees the day-to-day operations of RTS Operations Pte. Ltd.’s OCC and ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the rail network.

Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for the overall management and performance of the Operations Control Centre (OCC), ensuring adherence to safety regulations, operating procedures, and emergency response plans. Monitors real-time train movements, track conditions, and weather updates to maintain operational efficiency. Makes critical decisions during service disruptions to ensure safety, minimize delays, and maintain service reliability.
• Lead, develop, and motivate a team of Rail Service Controllers to achieve operational excellence by setting clear performance expectations, providing continuous coaching and development opportunities, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment that supports high performance.
• Analyse operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement, implement corrective actions to address performance gaps, and monitor key operational variables to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
• Discuss and align OCC’s objectives and strategy with the Manager, OCC, while supporting the planning and allocation of resources and operational activities to ensure alignment with the overall operations strategy. Maintain accurate records of train movements, incidents, and communication logs to ensure operational transparency and accountability.

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

• Bachelor's Degree in any field.
• Minimum three years of working experience in a related field, such as railway operations, or transportation industry.
• Strong understanding of railway operations, train-related signalling systems, and safety regulations.
• Superior communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
