Job Description:

• Provides annual and M Plan (5 years) fertilizer requirement for oil palm for SD Guthrie estates.
• Provide estimated fertilizer quantity on a 6-monthly basis to R&D Centre for consolidation prior to submission to Procurement for tendering exercises.
• Advises the estates on all good agronomic practices for yield improvement and monitor progress of implementation.
• Provides training/clinics in various agronomic aspects for executive and non-executive staff of estate operations.
• Conducts and plans feasibility study as and when requested by the company.
• Provide recommendations and monitor the utilization of plantation by products eg compost, plant residues, POME and EFB at the estate and mill.
• Responsible in the planning, managing and monitoring of agronomic trials as approved by Technical Research Committee (TRC) of R & D.
• Responsible of managing and preparation of annual budget for the research and advisory works.
• Provide comprehensive and transparent monthly report on all advisory and research activities to superiors at R & D Centre.
• Responsible in coordinating and ensuring foliar and soil sampling being carried out for research or advisory related.
• Communicate and liaise with relevant R&D personnel in the subject required specialist attention and action.
• Attend and actively involve in research related meetings with internal or external parties as instructed by superiors at R&D Centre or other research institutions.
• Prepare and present research findings for publication.
• Represent the company at various working levels in the industry.

Education / Professional Qualification:

At least Degree in Agricultural Science or other related disciplines.

Professional Experience:

At least 10 years relevant working experience in oil palm agronomy, estate management, agricultural advisory services and nursery management.
