Job summary

A leading hotel is looking for a Chief Accountant to oversee its accounting functions at Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel. The candidate will ensure compliance with financial policies, manage accounts, and support financial reporting. Ideal candidates should possess a degree in Accounting and have significant experience in hotel accounting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hotel accounting with managerial responsibilities.
  • Flexibility in working hours, especially at month-end.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Manage general ledger accounts and documentation.
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and analyze data.
  • Supervise cashier’s funds and inventory accuracy.

Skills

Fluent in English

Education

Job Description

We are seeking a Chief Accountant to join our team at Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the hotel’s accounting functions, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and supporting financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Manage general ledger accounts and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations and analyze financial data.
  • Supervise cashier’s funds and inventory accuracy.
  • Train and support finance department staff.
  • Review travel agent commissions and food & beverage controls.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate with government authorities and internal departments.
  • Handle tax payments and financial inquiries.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in hotel accounting, with managerial responsibilities.
  • Professional accounting qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong relationship management skills with banks and government agencies.
  • Flexible working hours, especially at month-end.
