Job Purpose

The Middle and Senior Schools (MSS) Chemistry Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality educational programs and fostering a supportive learning environment for all students.

  • Provide an exemplary student-centred, ICT-rich learning experience for students in your care.
  • Plan, program and deliver high-quality teaching and learning activities that are designed to meet the diverse needs within any class.
  • Maintain a safe and secure educational environment, meeting appropriate standards of behaviour.
  • Assess and report in line with the school's expectations.
  • Undertake tasks associated with the ongoing development of the School’s curriculum.
  • Develop productive and respectful relationships with parents and colleagues to ensure effective learning for students at the School.
  • Participate in professional growth.
  • Contribute to the provision of a rich and diverse co-curricular experience for students in the School.
  • Consistently demonstrate the characteristics of an ‘Inspired and passionate AISM teacher’.
  • Other duties as directed by the Principal or Head of School.

  • Experienced in and capable of teaching Chemistry subjects across Middle and Senior School levels.
  • Proven skills in designing, implementing and evaluating differentiated and inspirational learning experiences for students.
  • Proven skills in using ICT to improve student engagement and learning.
  • Knowledge and experience applying the principles of Visible Learning would be highly regarded.
  • Expertise and experience leading/coaching sports or co-curricular activities.
  • Spoken and written English is used for all school communications. As such, a high standard of English communication skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening is required to be successful in this position.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or Degree in Speciality plus Diploma of Education
  • Current Teacher Registration in home country, including relevant Police Checks
