Job Description
OVERVIEW
- The incumbent will carry out R&D projects related to new products, processes, improvements, and cost-saving initiatives, from preliminary lab studies to validation trials and transfer to manufacturing.
- Provide technical support for new product and material qualifications in manufacturing.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work on:
- new product development
- product improvement
- process improvement
- cost savings
- Conduct R&D projects including identifying customer requirements, defining design inputs, planning, conducting lab work and plant trials, testing, monitoring, reporting, and transferring to manufacturing.
- Handle technical issues and support plant troubleshooting related to new product development, materials, cost-saving projects, and processes.
- Serve as a technical consultant, guiding manufacturing and other departments on material/formulation issues, product transfer, customer complaints, and inquiries.
- Utilize PDCA, 5W1H, 4Ms, and other management practices to resolve problems.
- Stay updated on developments in the field, internally and externally, to identify learning opportunities and suggest new ideas or processes.
- Document changes in products, processes, and design files within KPI timeframes.
- Ensure all activities comply with department instructions, procedures, and Hartalega’s Quality and SHE systems.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and uphold work promises.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by superiors.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science).
Work Experience:
- At least 2 years in R&D or quality assurance within the glove or relevant industry.
Technical and Professional Knowledge:
- Skills in New Product Development and Project Management.
- Knowledge of Social Compliance Standards (local and international).
- Understanding of regulatory systems, standards, compliance procedures, and SHE policies.
