Job summary

AkzoNobel is seeking a motivated scientist to prepare, execute and analyse the output of practical experiments in the lab and in the field, aligned with the department's research plan and safety procedures.

You will deliver project results on time, apply proper methodologies, protect AkzoNobel technologies, and document findings while reporting to researchers. A minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science and 1–4 years of lab experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or other relevant science/technical fields.
  • 1–4 years of technical/laboratory experience is an advantage.
  • Relevant technical/science education is important, with experience considered an added advantage.

  • Delivering project results on time.
  • Correct use of methodologies, tools and systems.
  • Protection of AkzoNobel technologies.
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment, complies with safety policies and procedures.
  • Follows safe work practices for personal and equipment safety, in both the laboratory and in the field.
  • End results are zero or minimum safety incidents and a clean, orderly working environment.
  • Conducts formulation or technical work (in the lab) as defined in the departmental research plan.
  • Asks appropriate questions to clarify requirements, expectations and critical performance parameters.
  • Documents (lab) results, visits, etc. through appropriate reporting systems, reports outcome to manager or peers.
  • Is familiar with relevant experimental, development and/or analytical approaches and techniques

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Environmental Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or other relevant science/technical fields
