Job description

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Chemist located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This is an opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive salary and benefits.

What You Will Do:

1. Assist with Technical Support, Product Development, and Selection.
2. Conduct laboratory testing to evaluate product performance, properties, and compatibilities. Prepare technical reports.
3. Support field projects, including troubleshooting chemical issues, product evaluation, and field trials.
4. Collaborate with regional and global teams on technical projects, new developments, and process optimization.
5. Implement and follow safety policies (Goal Zero), updating procedures and safety documents as needed.
6. Maintain laboratory operations, ensuring equipment calibration and maintenance.
7. Pursue self-development through training opportunities.
8. Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
2. At least 1 year of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with oilfield chemical projects.
2. Laboratory experience.
3. Project management experience.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
5. Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.

Job Requirements:

1. Primarily laboratory and office-based work.
2. Fieldwork and overseas travel may be required.
3. Ability to stand for long periods during experiments or field visits.
