Job description

As a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative (Independent Pharmacies & Clinics - JOHOR), you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with independent pharmacies, clinics, and healthcare providers in your assigned territory. You'll play a critical role in driving sales growth, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring that healthcare professionals are well-supported with product knowledge and service excellence. This position is focused on Johor and requires regular travel and extended stays within the region.

  • Consistent sales growth across independent pharmacies and clinics in the assigned territory
  • High customer retention rates through proactive relationship management and responsive service
  • A growing pipeline of new prospects generated through market research, cold calling, and networking
  • Timely and accurate order handling, ensuring customer satisfaction from order placement to post-delivery follow-up
  • Clear, insightful reporting and sales presentations delivered to internal and external stakeholders

This role is a key front-line sales position, ensuring PROPHARM (M) SDN. BHD.’s pharmaceutical products reach patients through independent pharmacies and clinics. You'll work closely with the Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to deliver our commitment to healthcare providers. Your success directly supports the company's mission to expand its pharmaceutical footprint and build trusted partnerships in the healthcare community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Customer Retention:Regularly engage with existing customers to ensure their needs are met and to maintain strong, ongoing relationships. Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty. Monitor customer purchase patterns and provide recommendations to enhance their experience.
  2. Client Visits:Plan and execute daily visits to clinics, pharmacies, and healthcare providers to promote products. Conduct face-to-face meetings to build rapport and understand the specific needs of each client. Provide product information, samples, and promotional materials to clients.
  3. Lead Generation:Identify potential customers through market research and networking. Build and maintain a comprehensive list of prospects to target for future sales opportunities. Leverage industry events, conferences, and seminars to expand the prospects list.
  4. Cold Calling:Initiate contact with potential customers via cold calls to introduce products and services. Develop strategies for effectively pitching to new prospects and overcoming objections. Track and follow up on cold call outcomes to convert leads into sales.
  5. Reporting & Presentations:Compile and analyze sales data to create detailed reports for management review. Develop and deliver persuasive sales presentations to potential and existing clients. Tailor presentations to address the specific needs and interests of different clients.
  6. Order Communication:Maintain clear and consistent communication with customers regarding new orders, delivery schedules, and any changes. Coordinate with the logistics and teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment. Follow up with customers post-delivery to confirm satisfaction and address any issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or related fields preferred but not essential
  • 1–3 years of sales experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or FMCG sector
  • Existing customer relationships in the Johor region are an added advantage

SKILLS:

  • Good understanding of the sales process and B2B relationship building
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Committed to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Organized with good time management and reporting skill

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess own transportation and a valid driving license
  • Willing to travel and stay for extended periods in Johor
  • Familiarity with independent pharmacy/clinic environments is a plus
