Job Summary: The Casting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth operation of the casting production process, focusing on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan production based on the production worksheet and coordinate with the production planner on mould schedules.
- Monitor and manage sample runs and pre-production.
- Work with the quality control supervisor to ensure process and product quality standards are met.
- Identify and reject defective formers, taking corrective actions immediately.
- Provide necessary training to operators to maintain quality standards.
- Work closely with machine operators and maintenance teams to minimize machine downtime.
- Conduct daily checks on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) items and update records.
- Ensure 5S methodology is consistently applied and that operators adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure safety rules and regulations are followed and support the welfare of section operatives.
- Supervise and communicate with casting assistant supervisors to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Inform the HOD, production manager, and planner about daily performance.
- Conduct daily briefings with operators to align on priorities and tasks.
- Plan weekly manpower allocation and arrange overtime if necessary.
- Report daily issues to the HOD and attend relevant meetings with necessary updates.
- Manage mould arrangements, updating mould status in the system.
- Ensure pre-drying and drying processes meet standards and turnover planning.
- Perform internal audits for the Quality Management System as required.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum diploma-level education.
- Basic technical skills.
- At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, including manpower handling and production planning.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
