Job Responsibility

1. A Caregiver, or a Care Worker, assists individuals in their care with daily activities. Their main duties include helping clients with bathing, dressing, administering medication, and performing small tasks.

Caregiver duties and responsibilities

The primary purpose of a Caregiver is to look after their clients. Typical duties include:

1. Assisting with bathing and dressing
2. Preparing, serving, and assisting with food and drinks
3. Administering prescribed oral and topical medications
4. Maintaining records of treatments
5. Running errands such as grocery shopping and laundry
6. Keeping the living area clean
7. Supporting physical and emotional wellbeing through conversation, reading, and encouraging activity
8. Collaborating with healthcare professionals to establish a care schedule
9. Willingness to travel and stay in patients' homes
10. Preference for long-term stays
11. Working in shifts

Caregiver skills and qualifications

Training will be provided for both male and female candidates. Successful candidates should possess:

1. Knowledge of care skills, including safe lifting and food safety
2. Basic first aid knowledge
3. Excellent interpersonal skills
4. Attention to detail and organizational skills
5. Patience and calmness in high-stress situations
6. Good verbal communication skills
7. Transportation to medical appointments
8. Ability to document and report health changes
9. Proficiency with word processing tools
10. Physical fitness and strength
