Job summary

Businesslist in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) invites an experienced Project Accountant (GL) to join our Accounting & Finance team. You will manage project and fixed asset accounting in SAP, ensure compliance, and oversee capitalization, revenue recognition, intercompany, leasing, and asset records.

The role requires a degree in Accounting/Finance with 3–5 years of relevant experience, strong communication, independent work ethic, and solid knowledge of banking payments, local tax rules, and audit

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, excellent planning and organizational abilities, and proven problem-solving capability.
• Solid understanding of banking payment processes, local tax regulations, and audit procedures; ability to interact with senior management, external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
• Proficiency in accounting systems, particularly SAP, is preferred, with ability to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage project and fixed asset accounting in SAP, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and standards.

• Maintain accurate fixed asset subledgers across SAP entities.
• Support megaprojects, M&A activities, and SAP data migration.
• Prepare journal entries, perform financial analysis, and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally on cost reviews, capitalization decisions, and depreciation analysis.
• Assist in resolving complex issues, mitigating risks, and improving processes, including automation initiatives.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement process improvements.

The Successful Applicant

Excellent planning and organizational abilities, combined with proven problem-solving capability, are essential. Strong conceptual thinking and analytical skills are also required.
• This role requires a solid understanding of banking payment processes, local tax regulations, and audit procedures. The candidate must be able to interact effectively with senior management, external auditors, tax authorities, and other regulatory bodies.
• Proficiency in accounting systems, particularly SAP, is preferred, along with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
