Job summary

Texas Instruments in Malaysia seeks a capacity planning professional to forecast and manage material and production capacity. You will forecast demand, balance inventories, and support strategic planning with internal and external stakeholders.

The role requires strong analytical skills, experience in capacity planning, and the ability to lead multiple projects while driving cost-effective solutions across assembly and test operations.

• Determine allocations and equipment moves between buildings based on demand.

Forecasts organization material or product requirements needed to support capital optimization, corporate strategy and production/sales objectives. Interfaces between internal and external stakeholders when forecasting and planning materials and products. Plans and manages inventory levels for optimal inventory deployment, as well as ensuring inventory meets service level requirements. Drives profitability and customer satisfaction by balancing inventory levels and order fulfillment while managing a sustainable, cost-effective structure. Analyzes demand, supply and shipment trends using statistical tools and other forecast methodologies to identify opportunities, tradeoffs, impacts and risks to revenue and business plan objectives. Provides input to management and interfaces with customers, marketing, sales and production.

Qualifications

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate overall capacity and capital planning requirements for assembly and test in TI Malaysia.
• Support sites and SBE’s on capacity requirements based on customer demands.
• Support monthly capacity forecast cycle.
• Understand and eliminate constraints in order to meet customer demands.
• Work with LBE’s on action plans related to test capacity (conversions, test time reductions, etc) and test roadmap definition and deployment to close gaps and support all demand.
• Determine allocations and equipment move/install between buildings/floors based on demand.
• Work with WPL/IE to achieve best solution for factory (delivery, priorities, pricing, etc).
• Provide expertise, information, and analysis to support management decision processes.

Complex Tasks:

• Understand manufacturing capacity models and equipment.
• Data Analysis of business forecasts for trends.
• Judge between multiple requests for capacity to determine best use of limited resources.
• Must be able to work on and manage several projects in parallel and execute to commitments.
• Must be able to work with and manage relationships with site personnel / managers and business planners/ managers.
• Determine the capacity allocation of parts from Assembly and Final Test for multiple business units.
• Understand device sourcing, technological attributes and capacity trade-offs.

Make loading decisions based on demand type, AT cycle times and unit price.

• 2-5 years' working experience in capacity planning sector

Bachelor's degree in any relevant field

Preferred qualifications:

• Strong communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively across functional boundaries and with upper management.
• Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with peers in factory, MPO planning, and able to negotiate solutions.
• Comprehensive personal computer skills including demonstrated spreadsheet, word processing, statistical analysis, and presentation capabilities.
• Systems planning aptitude and not afraid to learn TI planning systems and tools.
• Team Player. Must be able to work effectively across functional, and cultural boundaries.
• Strong analytical skills to quickly detect problems at a detailed level and create proactive actions.
• Must be able to balance and prioritize several projects and execute commitments in a high change environment.
• Strong program management skills.
