About the job: Cantonese Non-US Interpreter

Grupo Noa International is a leading language service provider offering translation and interpretation services worldwide. We are currently seeking a Cantonese Interpreter to join our team on a full-time, remote basis.

As a Cantonese Non-US Interpreter, you will provide accurate interpretation services in medical, financial, insurance, and social fields via VRIOPI. This includes interpreting between Cantonese-speaking patients and professionals, and assisting with written translations as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-demand VRI and OPI interpretation for appointments, consultations, and procedures
• Interpret accurately between Cantonese-speaking LEP and professionals
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards and ethics
• Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality services
• Stay updated with relevant terminology and procedures
• Manage multiple assignments and prioritize tasks effectively

Requirements:

• Fluent in Cantonese and English, with excellent oral and written skills
• No prior interpreting experience required; translation experience is a plus
• Familiarity with medical terminology and OPI protocols
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Reliable internet and necessary technology for remote work
• Professional and courteous demeanor
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Payment is for connected hours regardless of call volume.

Training & Payment:

To qualify for payment, contractors must complete training, pass assessments, and start taking calls for at least 2 weeks. During training, pay is reduced by $1/hour. Full pay begins after successful completion. Failure to complete training results in forfeiting pending payments.

Technical Requirements:

• 10MB download and 5MB upload speed
• Latency ≤ 100 ms
• Jitter ≤ 30 ms
• Packet loss ≤ 1%
• USB headset and LAN cable connection

Schedule: 6-8 hours/day, 5 days/week, with paid and unpaid breaks. Shifts assigned after passing final assessment. Hourly rate paid whether calls are received or not.
