In this role, you will provide accurate interpretation services over the phone and through video conferencing in medical and social contexts. Ideal candidates must have strong skills in interpretation, knowledge of medical terminology, and fluency in both English and Cantonese. Along with a relevant certification, experience in remote interpretation is required. Pay is based on available hours, regardless of calls taken.

Job Description

This is a full-time remote position as an English-Cantonese Interpreter in a blended (OPI & VRI) environment. The interpreter will be responsible for providing accurate consecutive interpretation services over the phone and via video between English and Cantonese in medical, social services, customer service, and financial settings. The role involves facilitating communication between healthcare providers and patients to ensure effective understanding and care.

Qualifications

• Medical, customer service, social services, and financial calls interpretation skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Fluency in English and Cantonese
• Remote interpretation experience in both languages is mandatory
• Excellent communication and listening skills
• Relevant certification in medical interpretation or a related field
• HIPAA compliance

Requirements

• Ethernet connection (must be connected directly to the router via cable); Wi-Fi is not allowed
• Noise-canceling microphone and USB headset. Accepted brands: Logitech H390, Jabra GN, Plantronics Blackwire C3220(Poly), and Microsoft Lifechat LX-6000
• Processor: i5 or higher, 6th generation or newer
• Camera: Minimum resolution of 1080p
• Full-time availability, 5 days a week (2 days off)
