Job summary

NCS Global Technology Sdn. Bhd. in Penang is seeking a PCB Layout Engineer to design and optimize complex multi-layer PCBs using Cadence Allegro. You will manage constraints, perform high-density routing, and collaborate across mechanical and HW teams to ensure manufacturability and quality.

The role involves PCB stack-up definition, impedance calculations, DFM/DFT considerations, and 3D coordination with 3D STEP models for mechanical fit and thermal management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years hands-on PCB layout experience in product development.
• Proficient in Cadence Allegro PCB Designer and Constraint Manager.
• Strong multi-layer layout, high-density routing and differential pairs.
• Experience with impedance control, length matching, and timing.
• Experience creating ECAD libraries (footprints, symbols, pads).
• Knowledge of DFM/DFT, IPC standards and 3D STEP models.
• Collaboration with mechanical and HW teams; attention to manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop complex multi-layer PCB layouts.
• Place components for signal flow, thermal management, and manufacturability.
• Perform high-density routing including high-speed traces and controlled impedance.
• Define PCB stack-up with impedance calculations.
• Implement routing for DDR, PCIe, USB, HDMI, Ethernet, and RF/analog.
• Define and maintain design constraints using Allegro Constraint Manager.
• Create and manage ECAD libraries and footprints.
• Coordinate with manufacturing vendors and provide fab documentation.
• Perform Design Rule Checks and ERC validation.
• 3D coordination with mechanical engineers.
