Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Purchasing Teams are responsible for obtaining materials, components, equipment and services, gathering quotations, examining bids, and awarding contracts. They perform cost analysis and volume planning for commodities, evaluate vendor reliability, and develop new supply sources where required. They coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to maintain inventory at planned levels and monitor cost, schedule, and scope of assigned subcontracts to ensure the best quality at the best value. They also seek and recommend cost-saving proposals including make vs. buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria, as well as develop specifications for new contract orders.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet production and project requirements.
  • Analyze and provide feedback to relevant departments on part status or requirements to fulfill customer demand.
  • Manage delivery of critical component parts and end product delivery with suppliers and contract manufacturing and critical supply partners to meet customer requirements.
  • Escalate issues to relevant sourcing analysts.
  • Monitor and report KPI targets with actions for on-time delivery and confirmation of purchase orders.
  • Process invoices, resolve blocked invoices, and amend purchase orders as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, with relevant MRP experience; SAP or ERP skills are required.
  • Good communication and engagement skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Minimum degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a buyer or in a related field; an engineering background is an advantage.
