- Cost investigation/analysis based on input from PR requestor.
- Cost negotiation (periodically and by case) with suppliers for cost reduction and identifying second sources.
- Maximize both Incoterms and payment terms with suppliers.
- Material expediting for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) items, including issuing POs, tracking POs, shipment follow-up, and monitoring past due POs.
- Vendor/Facility survey for approval/disapproval of new MRO suppliers.
- Evaluate MRO supplier performance and reliability (price, on-time delivery, quality, lead-time).
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental policies, 5S policies, and general duty of care.
- Maintain confidentiality of all information related to pricing, strategic sourcing, cost-saving strategies, production processes, components, business, and technology.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in a standard office environment using general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax, etc.).
- Overtime may be required.
- Ability to work under pressure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent organizational and negotiation skills.
- Flexibility to handle changing conditions and ability to work independently.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and/or purchasing/planning environments; familiarity with SAP; team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to apply intermediate subject matter knowledge to solve common business issues, analyze information, and provide project input.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, interpret policies, and handle unique situations.
- Supports business processes with detailed analysis; focus on day-to-day and tactical issues.
- Interprets technical and business information; requires persuasion skills.
- Regular contact to resolve issues and collaborate; develops relationships as a priority.
- Flexible in guiding Level 1 buyers; provides process improvement recommendations.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Purchasing, Logistics, Material Management, or equivalent education/experience.
