About the role

As a Buyer at PG MALL SDN. BHD., you will play a crucial role in shaping the product selection and purchasing strategy for our thriving online retail store. Responsible for sourcing and procuring the right products to meet customer demand, you will work closely with our merchandising and marketing teams to ensure we consistently deliver an exceptional shopping experience. This full-time position is based in Kuala Lumpur.

What you'll be doing

1. Source new items and new suppliers (locally and overseas)
2. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for new product categories and assortments
3. Negotiate favorable terms with suppliers and vendors to secure the best prices and availability
4. Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and seek out new, innovative products and suppliers
5. Collaborate with the merchandising team to plan and execute product launches and seasonal transitions
6. Monitor inventory levels and manage purchase orders to optimize stock and minimize overstocking or stockouts
7. Provide regular reports and insights to the leadership team on category performance, trends, and strategies

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Buyer or in a similar purchasing/procurement role within retail, preferably in categories like Home & Living, Electronics & Gadgets, Health & Beauty, Pets & Groceries
2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret sales data and market intelligence
3. Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities, with a proven track record of securing favorable commercial terms
4. Exceptional organizational and time management skills to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
6. Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, or related field preferred
7. Language requirements: English & BM (Mandarin & Cantonese are a plus)
