Key Responsibilities

1. Quotes materials; procures materials, components, equipment, and services at the lowest cost considering quality, reliability, and urgency. Ensures timely receipt of materials.
2. Works with engineering and MPM or SCM to recommend new suppliers. Issues RFQs, analyzes proposals, negotiates prices and delivery, and maintains purchase records. Negotiates vendor contracts as appropriate.
3. Coordinates procurement activities with manufacturing and engineering to maintain inventory levels. Resolves material-related issues and develops methods to simplify procurement processes.
4. Reviews MRP regularly, executes or cancels planned orders, and escalates issues as needed. Ensures actions are taken regarding ECO dispositions worldwide.
5. Maintains inventory levels, performs analysis, and minimizes excess or zero demand inventory. Provides input on long-term issues.
6. Reads part specifications and engineering drawings, communicates with engineers and suppliers, and provides feedback for cost reduction.
