Objectives of the Position
- Deliver Business reporting services to BASF’s internal customers, in accordance with established processes and policies, ensuring compliance with guidelines, financial reporting standards, internal controls, and local legal requirements.
- Ensure timelines and quality meet service levels to enable stakeholders to drive business with transparency and speed.
- Support and back up other analysts in performing Business reporting tasks as required.
Main Tasks
Functional Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Deliver accurate, complete, and timely Business reporting services.
- Maintain master data related to material ledger, inventory valuation, production planning, transfer pricing, cost center accounting, fixed assets, and project accounting.
- Ensure timely and accurate calculation of material prices, inventory valuation, production budgets, and reconciliation analysis.
- Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Analyze cost variations, price differences, and conduct business analysis to advise stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve reporting process issues, acting as a business partner to internal customers.
Compliance & Others
- Participate in audits, ensure process documentation is up to date, and adhere to guidelines and regulations.
- Support project initiatives, global finance transformation, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor team members, support knowledge management, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Service Management & Quality
- Provide timely, accurate services, resolve queries proactively, and adhere to service timelines.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
Knowledge Management
- Conduct training, support knowledge sharing, and document process changes.
Supervision & Cooperation
- Assist in team supervision, provide guidance, and establish good relationships within and outside the organization.
Minimum Education & Experience
- Degree in finance, accounting, or business; professional accounting qualification preferred.
- At least 2 years’ experience in finance and reporting, preferably in a multinational or shared service environment.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of Business Reporting, ERP systems (SAP or others), and MS Office.
- Proficiency in English; additional languages an advantage.
