Job summary

Zurich Insurance in Kuala Lumpur seeks a seasoned Finance Lead to manage and grow a team of finance professionals. You will perform advanced financial analysis, model strategic initiatives, and brief leadership on projected outcomes.

The role requires strong IFRS/Reporting standards knowledge, experience in forecasting, and expertise in insurance finance concepts. Collaboration with internal controls and external agencies is essential for compliance and delivering Zurich’s commitments.

Qualifications

• Leads a team of finance professionals with advanced financial analysis and modelling.
• Must have strong IFRS/Reporting standards knowledge.
• Experience in financial planning, forecasting and modelling for strategic initiatives.
• Familiarity with Insurance finance concepts and actuarial principles is a plus.
• Understanding of the financial regulatory environment and compliance requirements.
• Actuarial background in Life Insurance/Investor Relations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of experienced Finance experts and deliver advanced financial analysis.
• Provide deep financial analysis on business performance and resolve day-to-day issues.
• Prepare messages and reports for leadership on projected outcomes of initiatives.

Job description

Manages, performs and supervises smaller teams., Under limited supervision, performs and supports finance activities related to FAR, Tax, Treasury, Group Re, FinOps and Performance Management in their area of expertise., Effective internal and external stakeholder management with the view to achieving key business objectives within the internal controls framework.

Key Accountabilities

• Leads a team of experienced Finance experts. Provides advanced financial analysis and modelling on strategic initiatives.
• Provides deep and detailed financial analysis on business performance. Resolves operational day-to-day finance-related issues and supports other functions.
• Leads preparation of messages, reporting and financial analysis to brief leadership teams on projected outcomes of initiatives.
• Monitors internal control framework and ensures adequate performance of controls. Helps ensure compliance with external regulatory agencies through adequate controls in relevant business domains and territories. Leads creation, establishment and implementation of policies and procedures that align with best practices.
• Monitors, assesses and evaluates finance business processes, collaborating with local Controllers to identify improvement opportunities.
• Liaises with external agencies and ensures Zurich delivers its commitments.
• Ensures that any change in external agencies requirements is coordinated and executed on time.
• Provides regular support as a SME business analyst to projects, internal initiatives and country-specific customer demands by providing know-how and expertise.
