Job summary

Lam Research in Penang offers a 6-month internship within the Global Operations Group to support regional business operations. You will assist with spares planning, demand and supply reviews, and data-driven reporting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support daily spares planning activities for assigned parts, commodities, or locations.
• Review demand and supply information using planning tools and systems.
• Assist planners in monitoring inventory levels, shortages, excess inventory, and planning exceptions.
• Analyze planning data and prepare reports to support decision-making.
• Support inventory optimization and service level improvement initiatives.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions with Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Operations teams.
• Maintain planning trackers, dashboards, and documentation to ensure data accuracy.
• Learn and apply standard planning processes, inventory policies, and supply chain best practices.
• Support continuous improvement and automation projects within the Spares Planning organization.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

Who We're Looking For

• 6 months internship commitment.
• Preferred Courses of Study: Supply Chain Managemen / Business Administration (Supply Chain / Operations focus) / Data Analytics or related disciplines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, charts, basic data analysis).
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong focus on accuracy.
• Self-motivated and willing to learn planning systems and business processes.
• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP) and Power BI is an added advantage.
• Passion for supply chain, inventory management, and operations planning.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
