Are you a high-energy strategic business development professional with a deep understanding of the semiconductor and electronics supply chain? If so, this may be the kind of commercial opportunity you will be interested in. Our client is a leading, award-winning regional investment and distribution group specializing in advanced materials and industrial solutions.

As part of a strategic growth initiative, we are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead the client’s expansion across Malaysia and eventually the broader SEA market. This is a pioneering role where you will be the primary driver of a new department, with the opportunity to build and lead your own team as you scale the business. The role has strong career advancement opportunities and the possibility to grow quickly in line with the client’s expansion objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Market Expansion: Define target segments and prioritize products for the Semiconductor, Electronics, and Building Construction markets.
  • New Account Acquisition: Hunt for and develop new accounts from the ground up, focusing on backend semiconductor processes, EMS, and front-end wafer fabs.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Drive sales for a diverse range of high-performance materials including specialty gases, silicones, epoxies, and semiconductor packaging consumables.
  • Relationship Management: Foster long-term, trusting relationships with key stakeholders, including major industry players in the semiconductor ecosystem.
  • Market Intelligence: Conduct market mapping and provide intelligence reports to the leadership team.
Who We Are Looking For
  • Experience: Proven track record in selling chemical materials, specialty gases, or industrial solutions to the semiconductor or electronics manufacturing sectors.
  • Core Competencies: Strong expertise in sales management, product technical knowledge, stakeholder collaboration, and relationship building. Some past experience and exposure to the mentioned segments or product groups will be strongly considered.
  • Education/Seniority: Roughly Senior Executive to Assistant Manager level with a commercial mindset.
  • Language & Nationality: Preference for Malaysian nationals with strong communication skills.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel across Malaysia and possibly the region as well when required to explore new markets.
