Job Title – Business Development Manager – Small to Medium Sized Businesses

Job Location – South West

Salary – £30k – £35k basic with a £65k OTE

Our client is recruiting a Business Development Manager to join the sales team to drive the growth of the SME sector.

The areas our client would like you to generate business from – Swindon, Reading, Oxford, Cheltenham and Bristol.

Our client has a range of vehicles suitable for the needs of Small to Medium sized businesses (SME) and through your proactive approach you will identify companies with a rental requirement.

You will be responsible for generating new sales within your geographical territory and evolving them into long term profitable relationships.

The role calls for a high energy, sales orientated and ‘hungry’ individual. The role is split 90/10 between new business and account management.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, convert and maximise sales to new business customers
  • Develop account profitability and achieve monthly revenue targets
  • Identify and lead on new opportunities, developing and pitching new proposals, and ensuring successful implementation
  • Provide feedback on competitor activity in the marketplace in order to gain market share
  • Communicate new, or changes to existing product range, terms or conditions when required
  • Ensure activity is recorded accurately on individual portfolio accounts via Salesforce (CRM)
  • Plan daily activity to ensure focus on sales and targets
  • Develop and implement a new business sales plan
  • Have a clear understanding of the portfolio of products and be able to align and communicate the features and benefits of each
  • Ensure written and verbal customer communication is accurate, professional and timely
  • Winning new business accounts over £15,000 R/S per annum

  • Excellent new business sales skills, able to self-generate opportunities
  • A strong communicator, able to objection handle, negotiate and close decision makers
  • Works well under pressure. Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build rapport at all levels
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Ambitious and target driven
  • Positive, energetic, and self-motivated with the drive to seize opportunity
