A leading company in logistics is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in Integrated Logistics. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple teams, target business acquisitions, and maintain client engagements. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding along with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to nurturing client relationships.
We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Business Development Manager to identify and grow Integrated Logistics business opportunities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Key Account Management, Air Freight, Customs Compliance, and Senior Management to drive strategy and maximize revenue for all logistics solutions.
Achieve personal Operating Income (OI) target of 3x cost to the company.
Drive new business acquisitions and expand the customer portfolio across air, sea, and land logistics.
Ensure a quotation strike rate of at least 40% and submit a minimum of 40 quotes per month.
Conduct weekly sales visits (minimum 48 per month) and secure 4 new clients monthly.
Assist in ensuring credit approvals are in place and support Finance in maintaining receivables within agreed terms (average ageing 30 days).
Actively share and follow up on sales leads locally and with global offices – minimum of 4 leads per month.
Diploma or Degree in any field. A qualification in Logistics, Import & Export, or Transportation is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in freight forwarding (air, sea, road).
Strong understanding of Integrated Logistics and business development processes.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must have own transport and a valid Malaysian driving license; willingness to travel is essential.
