Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
The key areas of responsibility for the Business Development Manager (ICT/ Fintech/Public Sector) include:
- Work with customers to achieve assigned sales targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
- Develop and manage relationships with targeted accounts and their business leaders to ensure BSI is well-positioned to win new business and/or maintain and grow existing business.
- Prospect and pursue new business to expand BSI's client reach.
- Coordinate requirements, develop and negotiate contracts, and integrate contract requirements with business operations to close new deals.
- Manage, maintain, and update key stakeholders' information in Salesforce to ensure contacts remain relevant.
- Stay informed on industry changes and participate in relevant organizations to maintain industry awareness.
- Foster partnerships with authorities, agencies, and associations to expand digital trust initiatives and business opportunities.
Sales Process
- Network proactively with existing customers to sell additional BSI services & products.
- Identify new prospects within the territory to grow the customer base through targeted calls and visits.
- Utilize the BSI sales process to highlight business challenges and sell integrated solutions.
- Assess resource requirements and provide delivery timelines to meet customer needs.
- Review sales activities and KPIs regularly to plan future sales strategies.
Sales Tools
- Manage territory potential through account and opportunity management; produce accurate sales forecasts.
- Use price books and tools effectively to propose products and services.
- Use sales collateral to demonstrate how BSI products meet customer needs.
- Apply standard Terms & Conditions accurately.
- Record sales and order information accurately in CRM.
Product Knowledge
- Stay updated with standards industry developments and explain the standards development process to customers.
- Apply product features and benefits to customer needs to secure sales.
- Understand competitors to articulate BSI's business advantages.
Sales Skills
- Deepen product/service knowledge and use reporting tools for account management and new business development.
- Present to decision-makers and larger audiences; deliver conference presentations.
- Define requirements, including buying process and budget, to identify opportunities.
- Support internal teams with expertise and gain internal support for sales.
- Engage with decision-makers, handle objections, and propose solutions effectively.
Sales Management
- Plan short-term (1-3 months) to meet performance goals.
- Ensure responsibilities meet targets; propose solutions to improve delivery.
Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in sales/business development, with a track record of exceeding targets.
- Ability to develop executive relationships and understand business drivers.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in closing B2B sales, acquiring new customers, and managing key accounts.
- Self-sufficient in sales activities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities calmly and effectively.
- Experience in fast-paced, customer-focused environments.
- Knowledge of certification, compliance markets, and BSI services is preferred.
- Understanding sector-specific trends and threats is beneficial.
- Proven experience in delivering professional services, managing tenders, and contracts at a national or international level.
