We're looking for a results-driven Business Development Manager with expertise in the Corporate Green Power Programme (CGPP) and Large-Scale Solar (LSS) projects. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving project development in the renewable energy sector. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the solar industry, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Market Development & Strategy: Drive growth by identifying opportunities in CGPP, LSS, asset management, and solar solution services.
- Project Origination & Development: Lead sourcing, feasibility analysis, and structuring of solar energy projects.
- Tender & Bidding: Manage proposal preparation for public and private sector tenders.
- Financial & Commercial Analysis: Collaborate with finance teams to assess project viability, funding, and ROI.
- Strategic Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders (e.g., ST, TNB, Single Buyer, investors, EPCs).
- Sales & Revenue Growth: Develop sales strategies to meet growth and revenue targets.
- PPAs: Negotiate and secure power purchase agreements with corporate off-takers, utilities, and government bodies.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with technical, legal, and operational teams to ensure project success.
- Performance Reporting: Provide management with regular updates on pipeline, sales, market trends, and competition.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant licensing, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field with 5+ years in CGPP/LSS solar business development.
- In-depth knowledge of solar PV, grid connectivity, energy storage/efficiency, power market regulations, PPAs, and project financing.
- Proven experience working with ST, TNB, Single Buyer, local councils, corporate offtakers, and regulators; strong networking and negotiation skills.
- Solid understanding of renewable energy policies, incentives, sustainability goals, ESG reporting, carbon trading, and energy transition strategies.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and financial modeling; fluent in English (other regional languages a plus).
- Willing and able to travel as required.
