Job Summary Business Development Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Developer to lead and execute growth initiatives in the education sector. This role involves identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building partnerships, securing investors, and driving strategic expansion of educational institutions within Malaysia and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Strategy & Growth

    • Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.

    • Identify new market opportunities in K-12, tertiary, and enrichment education sectors.

    • Evaluate potential locations for new institutions and assess viability (demographics, regulations, competitors).

  • Investor Relations & Fundraising

    • Identify and engage with potential investors and funding partners to support expansion projects.

    • Prepare investment decks, feasibility reports, and ROI projections.

    • Negotiate funding terms and build long-term investor relationships.

  • Partnership Development

    • Forge strategic partnerships with local and international educational institutions, training providers, and curriculum developers.

    • Lead discussions on joint ventures, academic collaborations, and franchise opportunities.

  • Market Research & Intelligence

    • Conduct market analysis to understand trends, demand, regulatory changes, and competitor positioning.

    • Provide insights to inform curriculum, pricing, marketing, and geographic expansion.

  • Brand and Institutional Positioning

    • Strengthen brand visibility and positioning in new markets.

    • Support marketing and enrollment teams with strategy and outreach recommendations.

  • Regulatory Compliance

    • Liaise with local authorities (MOE, local councils) to ensure regulatory compliance for new ventures.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of licensing requirements and education policies in Malaysia

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education Management, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, preferably within the education sector.

  • Proven track record of successful partnership development, fundraising, or education expansion

    projects.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

  • Deep understanding of Malaysia’s education landscape (national and international sectors).
