What's the Role?
The Onshore Business Developer is responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities within Malaysia’s Onshore Oil & Gas construction sector. The role requires forging long-term relationships with Owners, Operators, EPCs, and Contractors, ensuring the company is well-positioned to provide solutions from early project stages to execution and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations).
What does the role involve?
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the company’s footprint in Malaysia’s onshore Oil & Gas market.
- Customer Engagement: Establish and maintain strong relationships with Owners, Operators, EPCs, and contractors to understand their needs and project requirements.
- Strategic Sales Approach: Develop and implement sales strategies that align with industry trends, market demands, and company objectives.
- Project Management: Track major projects from early design stages to procurement and execution, ensuring the company is well-positioned to supply solutions.
- Technical Consultation: Provide technical and commercial support, collaborating with internal teams to deliver solutions tailored to customer needs.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments to identify risks and opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including sales, engineering, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution of business strategies.
What you need is:
- At least 5 years prior experience in direct technical business selling preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Able to carry themselves professionally to build relationships at different levels – C-suite and operations level executives, as well as with internal stakeholders.
- Must be comfortable travelling domestically for work.
- Must be passionate and able to demonstrate high interest building a career in O&G construction industry.
- Demonstrated strong sense of achievement in their line of work.
- Has a basic understanding and skills to interpret financial statements.
- Comfortable working independently and proactive in reaching out when in need of support.
