BAT’s Digital Business Solutions is looking for a Business Control Analyst in Malaysia.

The Business Controls Analyst supports internal control advisory and assurance activities, including reporting findings and maintaining BAT’s Risk Management & Governance Framework (SAP GRC) master data and projects. Based in Kuala Lumpur, the analyst works within a global team dedicated to enhancing internal controls, enabling strategic objectives, and providing expertise in control design, monitoring, and audit reporting as part of BAT’s second Line of Defence.

Key responsibilities include:
  1. Supporting BC team members and global stakeholders with SAP GRC master data requirements.
  2. Creating and maintaining GRC elements such as Controls and ad-hoc issues in line with compliance standards.
  3. Setting up prerequisites and ensuring accurate configuration of master data.
  4. Validating and reviewing data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy across systems.
  5. Collaborating with solution teams to identify and resolve issues, including raising IT support tickets.
  6. Extracting and analyzing reports from SAP GRC to provide insights and recommendations.
  7. Assisting in delivering the Three Lines of Defence model within the BAT Internal Controls Framework.
Candidate requirements:
  • Degree with relevant Internal Controls qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIA, IIA, CISA), either fully qualified or in progress.
  • At least 1 year of risk, internal controls, or audit experience, preferably with a major accounting firm or corporate.
  • Experience in a global FMCG or similar international environment.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in analyzing business data.
  • Willingness to learn about SOx controls across various business areas and processes.
  • Effective communication skills to articulate issues, risks, and recommendations.
  • Ability to identify control gaps and suggest improvements.
Beneficial skills:

  • Background in internal/external audit, risk, or compliance operations.
