Job summary

OCBC Malaysia is seeking a compliance professional to stay abreast of regulatory changes and assess compliance risks across business units. You will develop effective controls, conduct surveillance, and support reporting and remediation activities to maintain robust risk management.

The role requires strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills to work with multiple stakeholders and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry trends.

Qualifications

• Degree in Law, Business, or related field with 3–5 years of compliance experience.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry trends.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to assess compliance risks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Perform control testing and compliance checks.
• Conduct surveillance activities to identify potential frauds or data loss, including system access monitoring.
• Escalate control gaps and non-compliance issues promptly.
• Assist in data collection, reviews, audit preparation and remediation activities.
• Support risk and compliance reporting, dashboards, and incident reporting.
• Assist Business Continuity Planning and Operational Resilience activities and documentation.
• Conduct stand-up/virtual trainings or briefings to staff.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and support implementation.
• Support projects and process improvements and day-to-day control execution.
• Provide administrative support and handle requests and escalations.

What you do

• Perform control testing, compliance checks in accordance to guidelines.


• Conduct surveillance activities to identify potential frauds, threats or data loss. This includes system access surveillance monitoring.


• Escalate control gaps and non-compliance issues in timely manner.


• Support the preparation and submission of risk and compliance reports, dashboards, incident reporting.


• Assist in data collection, reviews, audit preparation and remediation activities.


• Support Business Continuity Planning and Operational Resilience activities, documentations and reporting.


• Conduct stand-up /virtual training and/or briefings to staff


• Keep abreast of new and changes to regulations, compliance, controls, and support implementation.


• Support projects, process improvement initiatives and day-today control execution.


• Perform administrative support, submission of requests, issue escalations and ensure effective discharge of the tasks assigned.

Who you are

• A degree in Law, Business, or a related field, with at least 3-5 years of experience in compliance or a related field


• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry trends


• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess compliance risks
