The Business Analyst reports directly to the VP, International Assets Oversight and is responsible for supporting financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, and business improvement initiatives across international asset portfolios. The role plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and strategic insights to aid investment decision-making and asset performance tracking.The position provides analytical, coordination, and research support, including assisting in periodic reconciliations under commercial agreements, maintaining group cash flow models, and developing business improvement projects to optimize asset and business unit outcomes. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Financial analysis & budget monitoring
- Collate and coordinate inputs from various disciplines for monthly reporting to track the performance of the asset (as assigned by supervisor)
- Assist in the periodic reconciliation exercises as required under key commercial agreements with relevant stakeholders.
- Collate and coordinate inputs from various disciplines into the Group cash flow model and assist in overseeing the group’s cash availability processes to ensure that the group’s overall cash position is managed.
- Collate and coordinate the inputs from various disciplines for economic evaluations to assess the feasibility of projects and facilitate the investment decision making process.
- Economic modelling
- Assist in development of economic models and perform economic runs for identified scenarios, projects
- Project management
- Provide administrative support, document management and meeting coordination
- Reporting & presentations
- Assist in developing reports, presentations, and spreadsheet models for technical and financial analysis of projects.
- Prepare monthly reporting
- Business improvement
- Participate in projects / initiatives identified to improve performance of the asset / business unit including conducting research, establishing new processes, systems, or procedures
- Research
- Conduct research on the macro and micro-economic factors affecting the oil and gas market outlook.
- Conduct research on areas / topics / projects as assigned
- Any other task as required from time to time
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualification and Education:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from recognized universities.
- Working Experience:
- At least 2–4 years’ experience in financial analysis, business analysis, budgeting, or project support roles, preferably within the oil and gas or energy sector.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, cash flow analysis, and investment evaluation principles.
- A good knowledge of the upstream oil and gas sector is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in developing reports, financial models, and professional presentations.
- High attention to detail, ability to manage deadlines, and strong organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders across disciplines.
- Ability to conduct independent research and summarize findings clearly and concisely.
