We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading multinational logistics company, for a Branch Manager to lead their Penang operations. In this key leadership role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the branch’s freight forwarding services across air, sea and overland logistics. You will drive business growth, ensure operational excellence and lead a diverse team to achieve performance and profitability targets. The ideal candidate brings strong market insight, proven management experience and a strategic mindset to navigate both local and international logistics challenges.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will lead Operations Managers responsible for Air Freight, Sea Freight, and Overland Logistics. Your role will be critical in driving business growth, operational excellence, and team development in the Penang market.

Key Responsibilities:

Business & Financial Management

  • Utilize your strong knowledge of the Penang market to expand business opportunities.
  • Manage costs and resources to achieve and exceed profitability targets.
  • Lead the preparation and management of annual budgets.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Motivate and guide your team to deliver exceptional results across all freight services.
  • Develop and implement succession plans to ensure leadership continuity.
  • Encourage cross-functional collaboration to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain and improve quality management systems and procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the branch.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within logistics or supply chain.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain operations, customs clearance, and international freight.
  • Deep knowledge of the Penang market and local business environment.
  • Strategic thinker with awareness of global trade trends, cultural nuances, and financial factors.
  • Only local Malaysians based in Penang will be considered for this role.
