Job summary

A manufacturing company in Negeri Sembilan is looking for a Boilerman to ensure the safe and efficient operation of boilers. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma/Certificate in Boilerman Grade 1 and at least 3 years of experience with natural gas-fired steam boilers. Responsibilities include monitoring boiler conditions, conducting inspections, and maintaining safety protocols. Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience operating natural gas-fired steam boilers.
  • Knowledge of Factory and Machinery Act 1967 and Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994.
  • Experience in chiller, compressor, and utilities equipment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor boilers for safe and efficient operation.
  • Conduct daily inspections of boiler fittings.
  • Establish and review operational procedures for steam supply.
  • Prepare boilers for periodic inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and safe boiler room.
  • Support the implementation of lean manufacturing.

To perform daily monitoring of boilers to ensure they and utilities equipment operate safely and efficiently.

To complete checklists and conduct daily inspections of essential fittings and mountings, ensuring all are in good condition and functioning properly.

To ensure quality and operational requirements are met and support a total preventive maintenance system.

To establish and review start-up, shut-down, and blow-down standard operating procedures for supplying steam to the plant and machinery.

To prepare boilers for periodic inspections and support inspections by authorities.

To initiate change shift procedures and coordinate with other boilermen.

To maintain the boiler room in a clean, tidy, well-ventilated, and safe condition.

To keep records of measurement instruments and calibration controls.

To develop, participate in lean manufacturing implementation, and drive continuous improvement.

To participate in company activities related to training, employee engagement, firefighting, safety, and health.

To support department KPI and work as a team to achieve overall company quality objectives.

To undertake job-related tasks as assigned by superiors or management.

Requirements:

Minimum Diploma/Certificate in Boilerman Grade 1 by DOSH (JKKP).

At least 3 years of experience operating natural gas-fired steam boilers (not less than 5.5 tons per hour).

Well-versed in Factory and Machinery Act 1967 (Act 139), Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514), and related regulations.

Knowledge and experience in chiller, compressor, and other utilities equipment are advantageous.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Systematic and results-oriented.

Strong knowledge of 5S and workplace safety.

Good interpersonal, coordination, and planning skills.

Willing to work extra hours, shift rotations, public holidays, and Saturdays.
