Job Summary

You will be reporting to the Senior Steam Engineer, based in Ipoh.

Responsible for boiler operation and maintenance, to ensure the optimal performance and safety of industrial boilers with expertise in utility equipment like air compressors and chillers. You will coordinate and execute the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) activities at the customer’s sites, covering the Utilities plant or Facilities (UPF) and its related Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) machinery and systems, ensuring compliance with statutory, health-safety-environmental (HSE) requirements, and company standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct first-level troubleshooting for boiler or auxiliary equipment breakdowns.
• Update data in the meter reading log sheet during shifts.
• Perform chemical analysis to monitor boiler water quality and take immediate corrective actions if deviations occur.
• Operate and maintain the steam boiler to achieve and sustain the required pressure and temperature levels.
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate daily boiler operations, configuring them to meet production targets.
• Maintain good housekeeping (5S) at the boiler premises and strictly adhere to safety procedures, ensuring all SOPs and regulatory requirements are met.
• Coordinate and contribute hands-on to the service quality delivery of the O&M team and subcontractors, including daily routine checks, troubleshooting, corrective maintenance, and site repair works.
• Ensure compliance with site O&M processes and best practices, including team training, record keeping, logistics, and site housekeeping.
• Mentor colleagues for technical development.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Certificates of Grade 1 Boilerman are mandatory.
• Over 3 years of field experience in boiler operation & maintenance, with hands-on technical services for Mechanical & Electrical systems.
• Knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical systems, instrumentation, SCADA systems, and related utilities.
• Good understanding of statutory regulations (e.g., DOSH & DOE).
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
