A leading building materials group in Asia seeks a Boiler Operator to support plant operations at a waste heat power generation plant in Kanthan, Perak. The successful candidate will be tasked with monitoring operations, carrying out maintenance, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. In this role, you will support the Lead Operators, Chief Operator, Operation Engineer, and Plant Manager to ensure stable, safe, reliable, and efficient electricity generation at the waste heat electricity power generation plant. The successful candidate will play a key role in patrolling the facilities to detect potential breakdowns, while also carrying out routine site work, preliminary repairs, and assisting in inspection and maintenance activities. This role will be based in Kanthan, Perak.
Job Responsibilities
Monitor and control plant operations to ensure optimal output and minimal breakdowns
Report to the Lead Operator or Chief Operator on any discrepancies detected on-site
Carry out preliminary repair work and support maintenance or other work required to enable continued operations
Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth and reliable plant operations
Perform routine tasks (daily, weekly, monthly), including site patrols, equipment checks, sampling, and chemical refilling
Supervise third-party cleaning and corrosion protection works
Ensure proper use of Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) systems during repairs and prepare “Permit-to-Work” forms as required
Work with Maintenance Department in site rectification works
Assist in the inspection of steam drum, deaerator, condenser, boiler tubes & thickness check, castable works and boiler overhaul
Update daily control room records and reports
Ensure documents and records in the Central Control Room (CCR) are properly kept and maintained.
Any other assignments instructed by Lead Operator/Operation Engineer/Plant Manager
Job Requirements
Candidate must possess at least an SPM or Diploma in Engineering. Fresh graduates with up to two years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply
Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Knowledge and experience in boiler and steam turbine operation is preferred
Team-oriented and comfortable in a team-based environment
