Job summary

A leading construction firm in Malaysia is seeking a Design Engineer to assist in producing coordinated models and detailed drawings for projects. The ideal candidate will possess an Advanced Diploma in a relevant field and have 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry, with proficiency in BIM software. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, along with a commitment to quality management practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in the building and construction industry.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement QESHMS policies and assist in producing coordinated models.
• Produce 2D detailed drawings and communicate with site staff.
• Attend BIM Coordination meetings and report to BIM Manager.

Job Responsibilities

Implement all policies, activities, procedures, and instructions as relevant and required by the Quality, Environmental, Safety & Health Management System (QESHMS).

Assist BIM Manager/BIM Engineer in producing coordinated models for the project.

Produce 2D detailed drawings for submission.

Carry out single or multi-discipline modeling.

Communicate with site staff regarding coordination issues and latest information for single/multi-discipline projects.

Report to BIM Manager/BIM Engineer.

Attend BIM Coordination meetings.

Undertake any other duties as instructed by the superior.

Willing to work at project site (Klang Valley).

Willing to work 5.5 days a week.

Job Requirements

• Possess an Advanced Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering/Building Technology/Construction Management or equivalent.
• Minimum 2-5 years of working experience, preferably in the building and construction industry in a similar position, especially in planning assignments.
• For Design Engineer position, experience in BIM software is required.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Good leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills with a focus on quality management practices.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001 standards; capable of supporting the implementation and maintenance of QESHMS.
• Dynamic, team-oriented, committed, and result-driven.
• Ability to motivate and drive team towards common goals.
• Experience in turnkey projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Primavera or other project management software is advantageous.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.
