Job description

BI Equipment and Hardware Engineer Job Scope:

  • Monitor hardware performance and deterioration rate on PCB, socket, and board components.
  • Responsible for hardware equipment performance report and capacity tracker in the IE-MDM system to monitor hardware capacity vs actual performance.
  • Work with shift ME on the schedule and unscheduled downtime, including hardware repair/rework, NPI qualification, conversion, mini PM, and PM.
  • Conduct shift audits on safety, E-positrol, correlation compliance, 5S, and safety control on the shift, and be responsible for non-compliance.
  • Reduce downtime on equipment and hardware.
  • Control quality issues related to equipment, hardware, and maintenance; understand mechanical gaps and work on improvements.
  • Support NPI and OST hardware and equipment engineers on new tool, equipment, or product qualification.
  • Assist in qualifying non-compliance, customer returns, low yield, or on-hold disposition.
  • Supervise a group of manufacturing specialists and technicians in daily routines to meet departmental goals.
  • Internalize a positive work culture and implement TPM/CIL to ensure high standards of housekeeping for machines and vicinity.
  • Handle grievances, complaints, employee concerns, and disciplinary issues through effective counseling.
  • Manage change for new tools, equipment, and hardware, and prepare DOE, DMAIC tools, and data collection for hardware, equipment characterization, and qualification.
  • Carry out investigations on maverick lots promptly to minimize the impact of problems through immediate containment and recall of any lots shipped out of the factory with the help of QA/equipment/process engineering.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement on process simplification, labor productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Ensure conformance to quality system requirements (FMEA, control plan, and TCM).
  • Identify training needs of manufacturing specialists and technicians to enhance their job competencies.
  • Manage inventory control of all stock items to meet department budget; investigate causes of over-usage and define preventive actions.
  • Maintain safe work practices and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Robotics.
  • Working experience: > 3 years in equipment, automation, and PCB hardware.
  • Experience in solderability, wetting quality, IMC, and dry joint management solutions.
  • Experience in end effector design and application.
  • Experience in automation and concurrent engineering is a plus.
  • Knowledge/experience in PCB level troubleshooting, DUT socket impedance, or contact resistance measurement methods to ensure good continuity.
  • Knowledge in mechanical design, SolidWorks, and tolerance analysis using available tools.
  • Positive and effective communication skills.
