Part of the role is physical, and you will be on your feet some of the day, so fitness will be key for you, although reasonable adjustments will be made where we can. There’s a lot of people around in the hotel, so you will need to be able to communicate well with everyone. We would love it if you were multi-lingual, but it’s not essential.
You will oversee the bell desk operations, ensuring seamless guest arrivals, departures, and luggage handling while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. This role involves leading a team of bell attendants, coordinating with other departments, and delivering personalized services to enhance guest satisfaction, particularly for VIPs and high-profile guests.
Supervise, train, and mentor bell staff to uphold luxury service standards and professionalism. Create shift schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during peak periods e.g., group arrivals, holidays. Conduct daily briefings to align the team on guest priorities and operational needs. Monitor performance, provide feedback, and resolve team conflicts to foster a collaborative environment.
Always greet guests warmly upon arrival/departure, assist with luggage, and bring them to rooms while explaining hotel amenities. Handle special requests e.g. luggage storage, unpacking/packing, and VIP arrangements with discretion. Address guest complaints promptly and implement service recovery measures. Provide local recommendations (dining, attractions) and arrange transportation (taxis, private transfers).
Oversee luggage tagging, storage, and tracking to prevent loss or damage. Ensure valet parking and vehicle retrieval are efficient and secure. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of bell desks, trolleys, and storage areas. Adherent to safety protocols (e.g., reporting unattended items, coordinating with security).
Manage departmental inventory (e.g., bell carts, uniforms) and submit procurement requests. Record and report valet/bell service transactions accurately. Assist in budget control and identify upselling opportunities (e.g., premium parking).
Liaise with Front Office, Housekeeping, and Concierge to ensure smooth check-ins/check-outs. Communicate VIP arrivals and special requirements to relevant teams.
A focused individual with passion, personality, individuality, integrity, creativity, drive for continuous improvement and delivering outstanding guest service. Someone who has worked 3+ years in bell/valet operations, with 1–2 years in a supervisory role (luxury hotels preferred).
Has leadership and encourage team motivation with exceptional communication (English fluency; additional languages a plus). Proficiency in hotel PMS (e.g., Opera, Fidelio) . Valid driver’s license (for valet supervision). Ability to lift 20kg, stand for extended periods, and work outdoors in varying weather.
Must speak local language. Other languages preferred.
Diploma /higher education qualification/equivalent in Hospitality specialisation or related field.
Two to four years of experience in a hospitality with direct supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in similar role.
