Job summary

GLOBAL GREENCHAIN INNOVATION SDN. BHD. in Sungai Petani, Kedah, seeks a Chargeman BO on a contract basis to oversee battery operations and related electrical infrastructure.

You will conduct routine maintenance, monitor charge/discharge cycles, troubleshoot faults, and maintain thorough records while ensuring compliance with safety codes. Formal electrical engineering qualification and hands-on experience are required; HV safety certification is a plus, with renewable energy exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience as a Chargeman, Battery Operations technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of battery systems, electrical safety standards and power distribution systems.
• Proficiency in reading electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Relevant certifications such as high voltage safety certification or equivalent are advantageous.
• Experience in renewable energy systems or green technology environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee daily battery operations and related electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance
• Conduct routine inspections, maintenance and testing of battery banks and associated electrical equipment
• Monitor battery charge and discharge cycles, recording data and identifying any anomalies or performance issues
• Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic work on electrical faults and battery system failures
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs and equipment performance metrics
• Ensure all safety protocols and electrical codes are strictly adhered to at all times
• Liaise with maintenance teams and other departments to coordinate repairs and system upgrades
• Train and guide junior staff on battery operations and safety procedures as required
