Job summary

S&P Global Energy is seeking an Associate Price Reporter for Nonferrous Metals to produce price assessments across battery metals like lithium, cobalt, nickel and more, in China/Japan/Korea markets. You will gather market data, write commentaries and contribute to market commentaries and analyses.

The role emphasizes engagement with regional producers, traders, and analysts, using Excel/PowerPoint to present insights and develop sources and stories in a fast-paced newsroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or similar level university degree.
• Excellent English writing with pricing/trading/analytics knowledge preferred.
• Experience or knowledge in commodities or metals is advantageous.
• Proficient in spoken Mandarin; reading/writing Mandarin a plus; Japanese helpful.
• Strong organizational planning; collaborative in a fast-paced team.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; can re-prioritize.
• Self-driven, energetic and proactive with good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a global, multicultural environment; proficient with Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Gathers commodity price information, price assessments/indices and writes commentary.
• Assesses the value of prices in line with published methodologies.
• Reports news affecting market changes which influence price assessments.
• Maintains a high-quality, timely stream of news and pricing data.
• Collaborates with the news desk and managers to identify market stories.
• Develops and maintains sources relevant to the market coverage.
• Expands and maintains price reporting in the region.
