Job summary

Cofreth is seeking a technically skilled engineer to support BAS/BMS and M&E systems on-site in Malaysia. The role requires a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, HVAC or related field, and 1–3 years' experience with BAS/BMS, HVAC or building maintenance.

You will troubleshoot, maintain and commission systems, work with vendors, and guide technicians. Applicants should be independent, collaborative, with problem-solving and good communication.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, HVAC or related field.
• 1–3 years’ experience in BAS/BMS, HVAC or building maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, DDC/BMS/BAS, PLC and basic networking.
• Skills in installation, troubleshooting, maintenance and system commissioning.
• Good problem-solving, communication and teamwork.
• Able to work independently and handle on-site technical work.
• Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first responder to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues involving BAS, M&E systems, and associated field equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with the approved service schedule, ensuring system reliability and optimal performance.
• Communicate system and instrument status clearly to the Facilities Manager, including observations, risks and recommended actions.
• Prepare, update and submit service, maintenance and progress reports, ensuring all work is completed in compliance with standard operating procedures and contractual requirements.
• Conduct and support system commissioning, testing and start-up activities when required.
• Provide technical expertise in electrical systems and control logic to support troubleshooting, optimization and system enhancements.
• Monitor overall system functionality and performance, identifying anomalies and potential failures proactively.
• Guide, coach and train on-duty technicians to ensure proper system operation and adherence to best practices.
• Liaise with external service providers and vendors, seeking technical advice and escalation support during system downtime or critical failures.
• Review and analyze historical maintenance and fault reports to identify recurring issues, root causes and improvement opportunities.
• Perform additional ad-hoc duties as assigned to support operational and project requirements.
