Job summary

Pavilion Kuala Lumpur invites a skilled Lounge Beverage Attendant to prepare and serve coffee, tea and beverages to exact recipes, ensuring presentation and quality while maintaining beverage knowledge.

You will take orders, accommodate preferences, welcome members, coordinate with Lounge Ambassadors, and support events, upholding hygiene and stock controls.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ barista or beverage-service experience in café, hotel or lounge.
• Practical knowledge of coffee preparation, milk steaming, and beverage presentation.
• Good spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or other languages are an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple orders while maintaining quality and hygiene.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.

Job description

Prepare and serve coffee, tea and approved beverages to standard recipes, presentation, temperature and quality requirements.

Maintain sound knowledge of the beverage menu, ingredients and preparation methods.

Take orders accurately, accommodate preferences within the menu and maintain consistent standards during all service periods.

2. Member Hospitality and Refreshment Service

Welcome members courteously, explain available options, and serve beverages and approved light refreshments promptly and professionally.

Anticipate members’ needs and clear used crockery discreetly.

Answer ingredient enquiries accurately and refer allergen or dietary questions for verification when required.

Coordinate with Lounge Ambassadors to deliver orders to the correct member and follow through on requests.

3. Equipment Care and Service Area Readiness

Complete opening and closing checks and clean coffee machines and other beverage equipment according to approved schedules and manufacturer instructions.

Keep counters, utensils, crockery and storage areas clean, organised and service-ready, report equipment faults promptly, and coordinate servicing and maintenance through the Supervisor.

4. Stock Control and Food Hygiene

Monitor coffee beans, tea, milk, refreshments and other supplies, inform the Supervisor of replenishment needs, and record wastage accurately.

Check deliveries for quantity, condition and expiry dates, and report discrepancies.

Store and label ingredients correctly, rotate stock, and monitor chilled-storage temperatures according to approved procedures.

Follow personal hygiene, food-handling and cleaning standards at all times.

5. Daily Lounge Operations and Event Support

Complete opening, shift-handover and closing checklists, and maintain accurate records of beverage service, stock usage, cleaning and outstanding issues.

Apply member refreshment entitlements and refer exception requests to the Supervisor or Manager.

Support beverage and refreshment service during approved member events and brand previews.

Coordinate with Lounge Ambassadors, Housekeeping and other teams to maintain smooth service.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum two years’ barista or beverage-service experience in a café, hotel or lounge; luxury hotel, premium café or VIP lounge experience is preferred.

Practical knowledge of coffee preparation, milk steaming, beverage presentation, and the operation and cleaning of coffee machines and related equipment.

Good spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin or other languages are an advantage.

Strong attention to detail, teamwork and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple orders while maintaining quality and hygiene.

Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
