A Banquet Chef assists in cooking and food presentation according to hotel standards and ensures smooth kitchen operations.

What will I be doing?

As the Banquet Chef, your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting food in the cooking section.
  • Ensuring all ingredients and equipment are ready prior to service.
  • Cooking all food items.
  • Maintaining smooth kitchen operations during service.
  • Preparing food according to the Chinese Head Chef's standards.
  • Handling groceries and perishable food properly.
  • Keeping work areas, equipment, and stove clean and in good condition.
  • Maintaining product knowledge and making operational recommendations.
  • Participating in menu planning and costing.
  • Maintaining technical culinary skills and adhering to recipes and plating guides.
  • Ensuring HACCP standards are followed.
  • Using equipment, tools, and machines correctly.
  • Assisting with inventory.
  • Understanding hotel events and forecasts.
  • Preparing menus and new dishes for tasting and photos.
  • Taking constructive feedback positively.
  • Maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Adhering to hotel rules and team policies.
  • Coordinating kitchen production.
  • Monitoring ingredient and equipment assembly for menus and specials.
  • Practicing discipline and proper work practices.
  • Maintaining hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness.
  • Monitoring food quality and costs.
  • Suggesting menu and concept changes.
  • Selecting team members with suitable qualities.
  • Overseeing food preparation and kitchen maintenance.
  • Controlling food costs and maximizing guest satisfaction.
  • Promoting teamwork and adherence to policies.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
What are we looking for?

The ideal Banquet Chef should:

  • Have a High School diploma.
  • Possess 5-8 years of Chinese kitchen experience, with at least 2 years as First Wok.
  • Preferably have technical education in hospitality or culinary arts.
  • Hold current sanitation certification and a health certificate.
  • Be knowledgeable in HACCP standards.
  • Have experience in international chain hotels.
